Tharaka Nithi Governor H.E Muthomi Njuki has called upon hospital management at various facilities in the county to expect more undercover visits.
The reaction comes barely three days after the governor, in disguise visited Chuka Referral Hospital to check how the staff were offering services.
While on a series of church tours on Sunday, Njuki was quick to note that indeed there was laxity in service delivery in the hospital and blamed the management for a series of complaints from the public.
“I have given the Health CEC Mr Nthuraku 7-days to clean up the mess at Chuka Hospital. I have indeed noted laxity within the management and staff after concerns by the public. We will be back next week to check on the progress”, he said.
The governor took credit for the transformation of the health sector since he came into power with hospitals now fully equipped with medicine and modern equipment.
Governor Njuki would also reminiscence health workers strikes witnessed in the county under the Ragwa government, acknowledging it was something that has never been witnessed in his regime.
In a move to cement his popularity and reclaim his seat in the upcoming general elections, Njuki emphasized on the need for first time voters to take up national identity cards and register as voters, saying there was no need to change a working formula and that the people should trust him with another 5-year term at the helm.
