Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative Susan Ngugi has reiterated her commitment towards representation of women, persons with disabilities, youth, marginalized and minority groups through her office under affirmative action.
Addressing residents of Kabuboni in Magumoni Ward on Sunday 04 June 2023, Ngugi insisted that her office was devoted to correcting cultural and historical gender imbalance, physical segregation and regional disparities in-order to promote equity in access to services.
She further hit out at her critics for propagating divisive ideologies, pledging to treat everyone equally regardless of their choice in candidate during the previous general election.
“I am ready to work for all of you, whether you voted for me or not. I am asking my critics not to politicize my service delivery because come 2027, those who are still engrossed in tribal politics will be in for a rude shock” she said.
In her National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) disbursements, the legislator began the campaign in Karingani and Mugwe Wards, with four women groups benefiting from the monetary allocations that are set to be disbursed to twenty-three groups across the county in the first and second quarter.
