Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi was yesterday hosted by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana in a daylong series of county activities.
Muturi who was flanked by former UNCTAD Sec Gen Mukhisa Kituyi and NARC party leader Martha Karua, led the inauguration of Wote Green Park and Makueni Innovation Hub.
The visit also included the commissioning of the Makueni Oxygen Plant at the county level five hospital, where Karua lauded the mother and child hospital for maintaining very high standards of cleanliness and added that it was well equipped and professionally run.
Muturi and his new political allies, who in previous times have hinted on working together towards 2022 also visited the Makueni PWD Vocational Training Center, appreciating empowerment of artisans by the county government.
“Like minded individuals who share a vision-we have worked together before-can bring positive and transformative change to the country. We welcome other like-minded individuals to come together and work with us” Speaker Muturi’s Tweet
The quartet have been holding talks to discuss a new political coalition with the recent meeting bringing to birth a coalition known as National Alliance for Change as Muturi seeks to popularize his 2022 race to statehouse.
This comes days after Kivutha Kibwana ditched Wiper Party to declare his presidency interests with the Muungano Party as the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta takes shape.
The leaders went on to criticize IEBC for what they termed as lack of transparency in preparation for the general elections next year with Karua citing fears that the elections may not be free and fair.
