NJUKI URGES COUNTIES TO INVEST IN TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP.

Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has urged counties to invest in transformational leadership for better health outcomes.

While hosting Amref Kenya senior management who paid him a courtesy call last evening, the Council of Governors Health Committee Chair lauded Amref Kenya for its leadership and commitment to addressing health issues, not only in Tharaka Nithi County but across the country.

Over the years, Amref Health Kenya has embarked in supporting counties to achieve better health outcomes.

Currently, Amref has partnered with the END Fund, Ministry of Health and other implementing partners in a program dubbed ARISE (Accelerate Resilient, Innovation and Sustainable Elimination) in efforts to eliminate Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) in Kenya.

According to Amref Kenya, there's need for the government and other partners to work jointly in strengthening efforts in formulating solutions to ending NTDs at community level.

As a county, concentrated efforts by a synergized working team have seen the rise in healthcare provision both in infrastructure and service delivery, with an increased demand in healthcare leading to opening and operationalization of 34 new health facilities.

During the 2022 Quality Healthcare Awards, Tharaka Nithi won the County With The Best Managed Healthcare award and has remained committed to offering the best healthcare service in the region.
