On Friday Data Science and Communication Analytics Mizani Africa published results of an opinion survey conducted in Tharaka Nithi County, targeting the positions of Governor, Senator and Woman Representative ahead of the August general elections.
According to Mizani Africa, the survey was conducted between the 16th-19th May 2022, through telephonic interviews across the three constituencies in the county.
The survey recorded a sample size of 600 people, targeting adults of 18 years and above living in rural and urban areas with a sampling error of +/- 3 and a 95% confidence level.
In the Gubernatorial Popularity Rating, former Chuka University VC and Jubilee aspirant Professor Erastus Njoka led with 48.3 % outranking incumbent governor Muthomi Njuki, running on a UDA ticket who recorded 46.7%
3.3% was in favor of deputy governor Francis Kagwima, with 1.2% undecided in the gubernatorial race.
UDA’s Mwenda Gataya topped the Senatorial Popularity Rating with 33.3%, with Paul Mugambi under Jubilee coming second with 21.7% and former governor Samwel Mbae Ragwa recording 20.7% to come third.
In the Woman Representative Popularity Rating, Dr Beatrice Kathomi commanded the highest ranking with 40.3%, leaving Susan Ngugi (34.6%), Peninah Kambanja(20.1%) and Lucy Wanja(3.3%) to settle for second, third and fourth respectfully.
