WHICH WAY KANU? MOI ACCEPTS NOMINATION.

20 years after The KANU Party bid farewell to presidency, the party is finally back with a presidential candidate for the 2022 general elections. The party today held a delegate’s forum at Bomas that saw Baringo Senator Gideon Moi given the party ticket to run for presidency next year.

The delegation saw leaders across the opposition and government unite in a puzzle that has left Kenyans in a political dilemma with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, former Vice Presidents Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi present at KANU’S big day.

The ruling party Jubilee was equally represented by elected and nominated leaders from across the country led by Majority Leader of the National Assembly Amos Kimunya, Kieni legislator Kanini Kega and Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege.

Kalonzo and Musalia were also flanked by their party members and leaders, with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, who is out of the country represented by his party members led by Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa.

Gideon Moi accepted the nomination to run for presidency saying “The voice of the people is the voice of God. I am obliged to heed your call to serve, as it is the only patriotic thing to do”

In his congratulatory speech, Raila Oding’a said that Gideon has every right like any other Kenyan, to contest for the presidency and that his family background should not be used against his bid.

“Mzee Daniel Moi, Gideon’s father was an ordinary teacher. Mzee Kenyatta was a meter reader. Both rose from lowly positions to become heads of state.” -Raila Odinga

Political pundits would argue that from remarks by leaders at Bomas today, Gideon is being groomed for Odinga’s presidential bid and that a coalition with Kalonzo , Musalia and Wetangula was in the making to ensure the team get to Statehouse next year.
