NJUKI WILL END UP IN PRISON. PLANS TO RIG ELECTION: NJOKA

Jubilee gubernatorial aspirant Prof. Erastus Njoka has called upon his supporters and agents to remain vigilant ahead of the August 9 polls, saying his opponents are buying voters identification cards to reduce chances of him winning in the general elections.

According to Njoka, his competitors have plans in place to use money at polling stations to rig the elections, asking his supporters to make sure they protect and safeguard his votes.

Addressing Chuka University staff members on Saturday at his Chuka offices, Njoka accused incumbent governor Muthomi Njuki of obtaining money illegally, saying he has been disastrous to the people of Tharaka-Nithi and has no ability to run the affairs of the county.

“Governor Njuki has a history of embezzlement of public funds. In the chance he is elected, he will not be sworn in until his court case is settled. The way things are, he will not win this election. He will end up in prison. I came to kick him out” – Professor Erastus Njoka

Comparing his track record to that of the governor, Njoka acknowledged that he had indeed utilized his allocations effectively than Njuki, with the university receiving an allocation of 1.3 billion per year compared to 5 billion the county government received annually from the national government.

Njoka pointed out infrastructure projects, tree-planting activities and expansion of the university through creation of campuses around the country as some of his accomplishments adding the county has rich natural resources and climate that need to be utilized to create economic prosperity.

“Our people have been made beggars. We worked hard to campaign for Njuki, put up a manifesto and make him governor in 2017 but he has no ability to run the county. Let him go home, relax and leave the affairs of the county to people who can deliver results” – Professor Erastus Njoka

Njoka appealed to his former staff to campaign for him to make sure he garners enough votes to propel his gubernatorial ambitions saying his decision to run for office was due to pressure from the people, who felt that the county had been destroyed by leaders and that he was their hope for transformation.
