Woman Rep Susan Ngugi Encourages Community Support for Elected Leaders and Needy Families

Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative, Susan Ngugi, has taken the initiative to rally residents in support of their elected leaders, emphasizing the importance of holding these leaders accountable for their election promises.

During a recent visit to Keeriani Village in Njaina Village, Karingani Ward, Ngugi extended her support to a family facing dire circumstances.

The family in question has a 15-year-old daughter who has been bedridden for years due to a debilitating brain atrophy condition that she has endured since the age of three.

This condition has placed significant financial strain on the family, as they are now tasked with providing specialized care for their ailing daughter, who requires continuous medical attention and is fed through tubes.

Moved by the family's plight, Ngugi not only provided them with essential food supplies but also offered financial assistance to help cover the cost of the girl's medical care and other needs.

In addition to this, she made a generous commitment to grant a full scholarship to a deserving and underprivileged student in the community, allowing them to pursue their secondary education at a school of their choice.

Ngugi encouraged local community groups to take advantage of available government funds by submitting proposals for the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), which can support various initiatives and projects that benefit the community.

In her address to the public, Ngugi stressed the importance of unity and support for elected leaders, from the President to the Members of County Assembly (MCAs), as a means to maximize the benefits for the county.

She emphasized that now is not the time for political divisions, but rather, an opportunity to focus on delivering on the promises made by elected officials.

Ngugi urged residents to carefully evaluate each leader's track record in preparation for the 2027 elections when they can make informed decisions about their future representation.

Susan Ngugi's actions and words reflect her commitment to making a positive impact on her constituency and supporting those in need.
