CS MUNYA DECLARES HE'S NOT RUNNING FOR MERU GUBERNATORIAL SEAT.

With speculations and questions regarding his resignation from the office of the CS Agriculture to vie for the position of Meru Governor in the coming August 2022 polls, CS Peter Munya has finally broken the silence on the matter saying he will not vie for the position in the coming elections.

“I have been reflecting on my political journey, talking to my friends and my supporters and looking at the current political position, I have come to a conclusion that at this point in time, the best strategic position I can make is not run for the position of Governor of Meru in coming elections” - CS Munya.

Munya insists that he wants to use his resources, energy and time to continue serving the farming community in the remaining time of president Uhuru’s helm, terming his move as strategic and one that looks into the future.

According to Munya, his focus now shifts to playing a role at the national level, to build PNU and make sure that party continues growing.

The CS noted that he seeks to strengthen the relationship between PNU and Jubilee Party as they craft a working relationship in Azimio.

“I want to put my energy and time in supporting Azimio Movement so that we can be able to win the coming elections. I will work with the people of Meru closely to evaluate candidates running and pick who we will support for all elective positions. We will support a candidate who will make a difference and work with Azimio” - CS Munya.

Munya believes the Azimio Movement led by Raila Odinga and President Uhuru will make a good government to take Kenya to the next level and has vowed to play a role in building that movement and shepherd his party to be a part of that success.
