Tuesday marked the end of a 6-day seed distribution program with H.E the Governor of Tharaka Nithi County Muthomi Njuki visiting Igamatundu Dispensary in Igambang’ombe ward and later finalizing his meet the people tour at Kigogo market.
Speaking at Igamatundu, the Governor called on the residents not to cross over their votes to neighboring Embu County as in previous years during elections saying there is every reason now for Tharaka Nithi residents to vote in their own county.
“The people of Ishiara in Embu County come all the way to seek medical services in Kamwimbi. Who then is supposed to cross over their votes?” – Governor Njuki.
Mbogoni water project was a subject of concern as Water and Sanitation CEC Eng. Jasper Nkanya and his aide Eng. Gichoni came on the spotlight over the project’s progress.
According to the Governor, Kamuthiga and Kabando water projects are already complete with the former being allocated 42 million shillings.
Area MCA Njeri Kigwari received a not so well welcome from the residents, suffering the same fate as her counterpart Dennis Mutwiri in Mugwe on Monday with the Governor coming to the rescue by asking residents to allow her address them after she was heckled.
The seed distribution program resumes next year on March.
