Tharaka Nithi Governor H.E Muthomi Njuki has told residents to discern the difference between politics and love.
The Governor while speaking at Chuka Baptist during a fundraiser asked people not to use their feelings and matters of the heart to vote-in leaders but with their agenda and projects. " Pick leaders not for their physical appearance and looks but for their ideas and projects for the people" he said. Njuki took the opportunity to hit on his critics, emphasizing that leaders were chosen by God and that he would continue serving the people of Tharaka Nithi untill his term is over. The Governor, who asked for a second term in office said he would accommodate everyone even those against him, and that his re-election would play a big boost in finishing up government projects adding the outpatient building at Chuka level 4 hospital would be completed in the next four months.
The hospital will host the first pediatric facility in the county.
Governor Njuki was flanked by area MCA Godfrey Gaturo, Mugwe MCA Dennis Mutwiri among other leaders.
Njuki seemed to be of the same opinion with businesswoman and MCA hopeful Mitheru ward Mary Kaimuri, who said there was need for the Chuka people to have a political father and that would only come to reality by not changing leaders every five years.
