The Kenya Film Commission has launched Film Clubs in Kiriani Boys High School and Kiereni High School in Tharaka Nithi County.
The Commission seeks to nurture young filmmakers and increase participation of schools in the film festivals across the region.
The film category was introduced to Kenya National Drama Festivals in the year 2012, with an aim of nurturing young talents. The move saw thousands of entries in the film festivals, creating jobs for film makers.
Students, whose major role is acting have also acquired skills in film making and opened doors for learning at an early stage.
Ikuu Boys High School and Kajiampau High School are schools that have represented the county in previous national festivals.
