JESHI LA BABA THARAKA-NITHI VOW TO DELIVER 83,000 VOTES, PROTECT BABA'S VOTE IN THE COUNTY.

Jeshi la Baba Tharaka Nithi Chapter on Wednesday converged at Ndagani in Tharaka Nithi County, to give light to their operations, that are set to ensure they deliver a win for Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga.



The group officials, drawn from Chuka\Igambang’ombe, Maara and Tharaka constituencies affirmed their support for Raila Odinga in the August polls, with their plans geared towards delivering over 83,000 votes in the county. In 2017, Mr Odinga garnered 10,334 votes.



Addressing the press during the event, Jeshi la Baba TNC Chairman Jackson Mutiiria highlighted Azimio la Umoja affiliated parties lack to campaign for Raila Odinga in the county, calling on political aspirants and leaders under the coalition to publicly declare and drum up support for Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua.



“Our very first agenda is vote hunting for Raila Odinga. Based on election malpractice during vote counting in previous elections, we shall ensure that Baba’s votes are protected after votes are cast to guarantee Baba wins the election” – Mr Jackson Mutiiria



According to the officials, 3 group members will be deployed at every polling station in the county during the general elections, to act as watchdogs in monitoring and safeguarding Baba’s votes.



Pre-poll zoning


With plans to filed a single candidate in the gubernatorial race in the county failing to materialize, the members called on Wiper candidate Francis Nyamu Kagwima and NARC Kenya candidate Dr. Mzalendo Kibunjia to shelve their ambitions and support Jubilee Party candidate Prof. Erastus Njoka.
