MZALENDO KIBUNJIA COMES OUT IN SUPPORT OF KATHWANA DEMONSTRATIONS

NARC Kenya gubernatorial candidate in Tharaka Nithi County Dr. Mzalendo Nyaga Kibunjia has come out in support of Saturday demonstrations held at Kathwana by the Kathwana Business Community protesting the transfer of County Headquarters and services to Chuka.

Addressing the media after the demonstrations, the former Director of Museums in Kenya accused Governor Muthomi Njuki of going against the law and decision of people to have Kathwana as the County Headquarters, saying the decision to have Kathwana as the HQ was based on mutual agreement and consensus.

Mr Kibunjia noted that such acts should be condemned by residents and leaders across the county, and asked Njuki to delegate County operations to his deputy since he was barred from office due to corruption cases in court.

Days after his preferred choice for deputy governor Jane Cirindi Kithinji was appointed ambassador to Russia by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Dr Kibunjia thanked the president for awarding her such an opportunity, saying the President had seen the potential in her leadership which shows Kibunjia had picked a worthy deputy.

He went on to acknowledge he would be announcing Jane Cirindi’s replacement, promising to appoint experts who would save the county from corruption and related issues.

Dr Kibunjia refuted claims that he was giving up his gubernatorial ambitions for other political positions or appointments, terming the information as propaganda and went on to confirm he will be at the ballot come August.
