NJOKA PROMISES RUBATE RESIDENTS UNIVERSITY.

Chuka University VC Prof. Erastus Njoka has reiterated there is need to have a fully-fledged university at Rubate.

Addressing Rubate residents at the chief’s office on Monday, Njoka pointed out that 7 years ago residents had approached Chuka University to request Presbyterian Teachers’ College Rubate be part of the university, but failed due to misunderstandings that involved the church.

“In the coming years I’d wish the college becomes a great university. We had started plans to transform the institution but our efforts were futile”, he said.

Njoka acknowledged that Rubate had for long been the epitome of education in the county, producing key figures but so far lagged behind.

The university don found elected leaders culpable, for neglecting and not investing in the institution, and still persisted there was need to have a university in the area to uplift the living standards of the residents.

“If the university was here five years ago as planned, you would have noticed the change and transformation it would have brought. We will speak to leaders from here and ensure we bring a faculty or departmental school here so that our people benefit”, Njoka said.

The gubernatorial aspirant in the 2022 general elections defended his tree planting campaigns, saying it is key in ensuring job opportunities through creation of industries in the county.

Health, transport and water issues are some of the problems he has promised to solve once elected in office, questioning why certain leaders have been elected to office in the past yet there are no projects to their name.
