Governor Muthomi Njuki has cautioned politicians against inciting and spreading political hate through propaganda which could create and leave permanent damage to the people of Tharaka-Nithi County.
Speaking at Mpukoni Catholic Church where he attended the burial service of Bonface Murianki Karambu, the governor gave his remarks on court orders challenging the creation of Igambang’ombe Sub-County saying it was a temporary issue that would pass and that its creation was not to disadvantage any tribe.
“There are some people who are spreading hate and incitement using propaganda. Politics is not a matter of life and death, just a moment that will pass and therefore there is no need for certain politicians to incite and divide the people along tribes”, he said.
Governor Njuki gave an update on the tarmacking of the Kangoro-Itugururu road, promising residents that the road will reach Mpukoni Health Centre by August this year, with the health centre set to be the next big project in Chuka Sub-County by upgrading it to a level 4 status.
“We have agreed as the county government to upgrade Mpukoni Health Centre to level 4 status. The facility has great catchment, will reduce numbers at Chuka level 4 hospital which is set for an upgrade to level 5 and will create job opportunities to the residents here”, he said.
The Governor eulogized the late Bonface Murianki Karambu as a patriarch and committed administrator who served his people with dedication having worked and rose the ranks of assistant chief to senior chief from 1967-1984.
