Over 20 groups benefit from the first two quarters of NGAAF disbursements

More than 20 groups from across Tharaka Nithi County are beneficiaries of the first two quarters of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF).

According to Tharaka Nithi County Woman Representative Susan Ngugi, Quarter 1 and 2 of the disbursements are already complete, with funds for the remaining two quarters expected to be released this week where selected groups will be issued with cheques.

Ngugi commended groups that had already actualized their proposed projects after receiving funding, adding that groups needed to provide evidence of active value addition projects to avoid anomalies.

She further urged groups to appropriately utilize the funds and stick to their proposed projects, saying groups that had successfully actualized their projects would be considered for more funding.

“I am urging more groups to submit their NGAAF proposals to my office so that they can be considered in the next disbursement. Groups that have already benefitted from the funding and have appropriately utilized their funds are eligible for second-time applications”, she said.

The legislator had visited Muiru Muwatithania Group in Mugwe Ward to oversee the delivery of dairy goats which the group had purchased after receiving a cheque worth KShs 119,000.

Ngugi also donated uniforms to Mariuko Maingi Primary School and a water tank to Ngunga Boarding Primary School.

She also awarded scholarships to four Ngunga Boarding Primary School students.
