Chuka-Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene (Parto) now wants UDA Party leader William Ruto to name National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi as his running mate.
Speaking at Kamwimbi and Kanyuru in Chuka-Igambang’ombe constituency in Tharaka Nithi County on Saturday, the one term Member of Parliament failed to drum up support for Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki who is also eyeing to deputize Ruto, choosing to rally behind Muturi who comes from the neighboring Embu County.
Parto went on to acknowledge that Muturi was the right man for the job, with enough experience and expertise to be the second in command having served as National Assembly Speaker for two-terms.
CDF Funds
Justin Muturi on his part appreciated the role of CDF Funds in supporting education, a sector he said had been neglected by the government, leaving all necessary duties such as upgrades and facelifts to CDF Funds.
“95% of students in Kenya study in public schools. Education is the greatest equalizer and it would be wrong for the government not to invest in the public education system to compete with private schools. We must have proper planning for our schools” – N.A Speaker Justin Muturi
Kenya Kwanza Politics
Muturi defended his move to support Ruto’s presidency, saying his vision and plan for Kenya was in line with that of Ruto and that his decision to form a coalition with the Deputy President was called for by consultations with elders and stakeholders.
