RIGATHI OR KINDIKI, UDA RUNNING MATE SELECTION NARROWED DOWN TO TWO, SAY NJUKI AND PARTO.

UDA Presidential aspirant William Ruto is set to announce his preferred running mate for the August general elections on Saturday 14th May after the panel entrusted in proposing a candidate to deputize him narrowed it down to Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki and Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.

According to Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki and Chuka\Igambango’mbe MP Patrick Munene, Ruto is set to pick his running mate this Saturday with UDA Party aspirants and officials already invited for the unveiling.

Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki thanked all elected leaders and all people of goodwill who have profiled Kithure Kindiki, saying it would go down in history that a Presidential hopeful would consider a leader from Mt Kenya East to deputize him.

Njuki maintained that Mt Kenya region should remain united despite divisions based on tribe, and that it was not enough to discredit Kindiki based on his origin.

“The issue of tribe or which side of the mountain a potential running mate comes from should not be used to discredit a certain leader. What we are looking for is a leader who can serve the nation and his President with loyalty and Kindiki matches the description. Kindiki is humble and trustworthy” – Muthomi Njuki, Governor Tharaka Nithi County

Chuka\Igambang’ombe legislator while throwing his weight behind Kithure Kindiki said Tharaka Nithi has for long been supporting Central Region in national politics and asked them to return the favor by supporting Kithure Kindiki.

“The race for the running mate has narrowed down to 2 candidates, Rigathi Gachagua and Kithure Kindiki. The little known Tharaka Nithi County finally will be visible in the map of Kenya. We have really supported Central Province and this time we are asking them as brothers to support us. A time has come for them to return the favor” – Patrick Munene, MP Chuka\Igambang’ombe

The two leaders were speaking at the funeral service of the late Alfred Rugendo Kimotho at Kibugua in Chuka\Igambang’ombe Constituency.
