SPLIT IN UDA? DISUNITY WITHIN THE PARTY, HINTS MAUGU.

UDA Party flag bearer for Muthambi Ward Morris Maugu has hinted of disunity in the party ahead of the August polls.

Addressing the media at his Iriga home, the young aspirant drummed up support for UDA presidential candidate William Ruto and himself, snubbing other elective positions.

According to Maugu, the people were free to elect candidates of their choice despite their parties, asking them to vote for whoever they felt was right to steer the county to the right direction.

In a move likely suggesting distancing himself with aspirants seeking other elective seats under his party UDA, Maugu said he was willing and ready to work under the government that would take over after August and that he would put the interests oh his people first once elected.

"Once elected to the County Assembly, I will work with the government at the helm to ensure service delivery to my people" - Morris Maugu

Maugu urged Kenyans to conduct peaceful campaigns and elections, condemning leaders diving the people based on tribe and party affiliations saying Kenyans will remain brothers and sisters after the elections.

Maugu clinched the UDA Party ticket after a repeat nomination exercise that saw him trounce incumbent MCA Derebia Nyaga Muisrael.
