Magumoni Ward MCA aspirant Alexander Mugendi (Wa Festu) has hit out at his opponents for skipping the Magumoni MCA debate held on Thursday at EAPC Thuita hall, where only 3 of the 6 aspirants turned up.
Alexander Mugendi (Wa Festu) who is running on an Independent ticket, Jubilee Party aspirant Royford Muchiri and ODM's Franklin Rwigi Ngera were the only aspirants who appeared for the debate, with incumbent Justin Kithinji notably missing from the event.
Wa Festu accused the absentees for noncommitment to the people of Magumoni, saying the debate was a great opportunity for voters to weigh and evaluate the candidates.
"All aspirants were invited for this debate. My opponents ought to have showed up to respond to the residents demands and concerns since leaders should be accessible to their voters" - Alexander Mugendi
Among the issues addressed by Wa Festu in the debate were lobbying for roads and industries in the ward from the county government.
Jubilee Party candidate Royford Muchiri commended the organizers of the event, saying it was a great platform to share their vision and plan to the people.
The debate was organized by Magumoni Ward Debating Committee in collaboration with GRADIF- Kenya and Uraia Trust.
