YOUTH ADVISED AGAINST ELECTING LEADERS WITH INTEGRITY CASES.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in collaboration with Chuka Universty on Monday sensitized students on electoral integrity and the role of youth in electing leaders of integrity. Mr. Muhammad Abdi, an official from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) department of education and training cautioned the students from electing leaders facing integrity cases as a way of fighting corruption. "We are asking the youth, who form a majority of voters in the country to take up their constitutional role by electing leaders of integrity because that is the only way we can observe and maintain good governance and fight corruption" - Mr Muhammed Abdi According to Mr Abdi, the program is targeting tertiary institutions across the country in a bid to reach out to the young voters. "As students, we are fully informed on not electing leaders because of where they come from or the money they give us. We have pledged to elect leaders who can serve us, help us and help Kenya become better" - Sharon Akoth, Student.
